Dear Jack & Penny,
Once again we are having a great time in paradise. Thanks
so much for letting us stay once again. My brother and his
wife & 10 year old son came last weekend and just loved it.
They are wondering how they can buy the family cottage with
only their $65,000.00 in RRSPs and barely enough left over
to buy a hamburger. They've lived up north in the Yukon for
5 years or more so appreciate pristine lakes and rivers. We
canoed all the way to the water bombers. The guy next door,
Garth, who we only saw on the first day here said we could
use his kayaks and we've been in them every day. They are
great on the cloudy mornings when you aren't ready for a swim
yet.
Russ' mom came for 3 days and dove in and swam about like
a young girl. She wanted to say how much she appreciated Jack's
hospitality when we came over to visit in August. She said
to tell Jack "that he is the first male, in all my 70 years,
that greeted company with drinks and food, literally, before
we even sat down." She's a retired dietician, nutritionist
so was very impressed. She also thought the boat ride was
great to see all the cottages & the bombers up close.
This cabin is such a delight. We've been sleeping about 10
hours a night. The sauna is a treat after a refreshing swim.
Personally, I prefer it to a hot tub any day.
The neighbour came by one night to tell us of a bear sighting
but I think that is the only night he's been around. Tigs
- the new golden lab - comes over daily to follow us around
too. It's like glass on the lake today & my parents are coming
for a few hours to swim today. Must get down on that dock.
Having a great time,
Russ & Nora
