Huge first growth cedars grow all around and the property is very private. The cabin is completely winterized and for the energetic a hot tub followed by a swim and a sauna in the winter months is very invigorating.

The cabin has a large balcony overlooking the beautiful sandy beach and private dock and incredible perennial flower garden. We have had comments from past guests such as "this view is like looking at a natural wonder" and "I have only seen a landscape like this in a "Brian Scott painting".

Across the the road at the top of our driveway is a trail through the woods perfect for mountain biking and jogging .You can pick chanterelles in season or walk to the tennis courts.

Across the lake is Fossli Provincial Park (logging road or water access) with a wonderful hike to a beautiful waterfall. Many people catch trout in the lake. The Alberni Inlet (fifteen minutes away) is famous for its Sockeye run and the Stamp River (ten minutes away) is famous for it's steelhead run each fall. Many guides and charters are available.

Down the road five minutes are two tennis courts and Port Alberni has others and also an eighteen hole gold course with surprizingly reasonable rates.

It is very possible to take a day trip to Tofino from our cabin as Tofino is only one hour and fiteen minutes away. You will find that Sproat Lake enjoys hot summer temperatures and clear weather while Tofino is often shrouded by drizzle and fog. Try a day trip to Bamfield on the day freighter the Lady Rose or tour the Broken Islands by kayak from the Lodge in Sechart Channel.
